Christchurch Earthquake 22 February 2011 Foragers Updates Foragers will be open again soon! Unfortunately until then we will not be able to take enquiries about stock purchases or valuations. We will keep you posted as to our progress here - thanks for checking us out! April Update Thanks everyone for your lovely messages of concern, and interest in how we are getting on. We are making progress! The building has been substantially cleared ready for new floors to be laid. We hope to have our engineer's report in the next few days, and then once our insurers have completed their assessment the work can begin. When we have a little more information we will let you know our expected re-opening date. We hope all is well with you. March update Foragers has had extensive damage to stock, and liquefaction has deposited silt throughout the building. The building has now been checked by an engineer, and while there is some work to do, the building is strong and has stood up very well indeed. The liquefaction inside the building caused a lot of movement to the concrete floors, which are now up hill and down dale. We are moving everything out of the building and into containers to allow a new floor to be laid - quite a big job as anyone who has been in the store will know!
