Fabulous
Chinese lacquer tea caddy, c1840 and in very good condition for its age.
The caddy has four paw feet, and when opened there is a lead liner with
two lids, one that sits on top and one that sits inside the caddy base.
The top of the lead has quite an intricate design. The lead liner has
some damage and is battered - the base has come away from the sides but
this could be repaired. The box itself is in very good condition - there
is a little bit of lacquer missing at the front lip, and of course
general marks accumulated over 170 years. The caddy measures 10" x
7 1/5" and 5 1/2" high, and weighs 1.35 kg.
