  • Doulton Burslem Cup features John Robert Godley and William Reece
    This very rare cup was produced by Doulton Burslem. It features John Robert Godley, founder of the Canterbury Settlement, on one side, and William Reece, Mayor of Christchurch 1900-1901. During Reece's term Canterbury celebrated its 50th jubilee and this piece may have been produced at the time to mark the occasion. There is wear to the gold trim, but otherwise this piece is in very good condition with no chips, cracks or crazing.

    A very nice advertising cribbage board for The "All Black" Tobacco, compliments of T. C. Williams the tobacco producer from Richmond, Virginia, USA. The board measures 13" x 4 1/4" and has a moulded edge. Probably not a performance enhancing product though!     Interesting antique writing box presented to Reverend A Peters in March 1897, paua and carved trim all the way around the top edge, ivory escutcheon, has just had a replacement key cut so that is new, missing the little clasp to hold the back part of the writing slope, original leather inlay, measures 36cm x 25.5cm x 15cm.
